Abstract

This research paper discusses the effects of international laws for protecting the rights of women workers on the laws on the local level, as a result of the increase of the importance of the rights of the women workers on the national and the international levels. In order to advance the laws of the country and keep it at the level of the international laws, the Iraqi legislator has paid a special attention to the case of the women worker and provided the right conditions to allow women to come to work and provided the legal texts to do that. In this research paper the discussion has been divided into two main parts. In the first part we have discussed the rights of women workers in the international documents and in the international rights declarations and international conventions. In the second part we have discussed the reflection of the rights of the women workers in the Iraqi constitution of 2005 and also the effects of the international laws for protecting the rights of women workers on the Iraqi laws. At the end of this research paper and as a direct result of the comparison of the legal texts we reached the conclusion that most of the rights and protections for women workers that are guaranteed by the international laws has been provided by the Iraqi constitution and local laws in Iraq.
