Although the Iraqi legislator did not take any stand to force the opponent to commit to telling the truth in the civil lawsuit, the obligation to tell the truth is considered one of the general duties imposed by the Sharia, the law, the rules of ethics, and what the conscience of the individual dictates in not deviating from it, and on this basis, if the opponent In a civil lawsuit, he has the right to bring before the court everything he has in his arsenal to defend his interest, but he does not have the right to proceed with it in bad faith, intending damage or deceit when telling the truth, but rather he must be committed to telling the truth, sincerity and integrity in all stages of the civil
