The political opposition has a short history in the Kurdistan Region, its real emergence dates back to the year (2009) which many causes led to emerging it, including: the spread of corruption, lack of transfer of power peacefully, electoral fraud, the absence of the rule of law, the existence of two administrations and political dynasty.
In order to reduce or uproot these reasons, opposition parties were created, but these parties faced many challenges that prevented them from achieving their goals.
The challenges including: the formation and structure of the parties, lack of belief in the transfer of power, internal divisions, absence of a coherent strategy to unite members, financial problems and they rush to achieve their goal and do not have a policy for long term strategy. Additionally, the reality and context of Kurdistan Region, has not been taken to consideration by these parties.
Moreover, there are other obstacles and challenges which are being created by the ruling parties for the opposition parties to operate.
