Abstract
This study explores the intricate relationship between corruption and Kurdish national
identity within the Kurdistan Region, focusing on public perceptions of trust, transparency,
accountability, and the performance of public institutions, including the judiciary. By
employing a mixed-methods approach, the research begins with qualitative analysis to
identify key indicators, followed by quantitative measures such as the "Government Trust and
Performance Index" and the "Transparency and Accountability Criteria" to assess the extent
of corruption and its manifestations. Findings reveal that corruption has significantly eroded
collective pride, social cohesion, and the foundational pillars of Kurdish national identity. To
mitigate these negative impacts, the study emphasizes the urgent need to strengthen justice,
enhance transparency, and rebuild citizens' trust in government institutions. These measures
are crucial to restoring confidence and eliminating feelings of inferiority tied to Kurdish
national identity in the region.
