Abstract

The role of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in forming Turkish foreign policy became strong and powerful. In particular, 2002 elections brought a landslide victory for the AKP election, which was the prologue to a series of internal and external reactions. Such policies have placed heavy emphasis on Turkey's relationship with Middle Eastern countries, especially neighboring countries. From that time, Turkey's influence has grown in the Middle East based on the strategic depth doctrine and new policy (there is no enemy in the region) to pass the past problematic issues and period.Indeed, from 2002 there are changes in Turkey's internal and external policies and practices due to the dramatic change of the Middle East. This encourages and pushes Turkey to change its policy internally, which causes Turkish government to posit a new initiative to reduce uncertainty and improve humanitarian rights. Consequently, this will be a good strategy to protect and preserve Turkey's national interests.
